Role
The main role of Iceland Music Information Centre is to safe keep and file Icelandic contemporary music and market domestically and abroad.
The centre also provides information on Icelandic music, composers and musical life.
Iceland Music Information Centre publishes Icelandic music.
Library
In the library of Iceland Music Information Centre there are around 7000 manuscripts and published works by over 200 Icelandic composers. It is possible to rent scores and individual parts of each work. All works in the library of Iceland Music Information Centre
are available in quality photocopies.
Information Centre
The database of Iceland Music Information Centre contains information on compositions, composers, publications and the beginning of most works can be viewed as pdf-file. At the Centre it is possible to look through music of individual works and professionals can get a clear idea of both music and conditions of manuscripts.
Publication
Under the logo of ITM Iceland Music Information Centre publishes sheet music and CDs. Iceland Music Information Centre is also coproducing the publication of Icelandic contemporary music on CD with the SMK label, i.e. the publishing company Smekkleysa.
Iceland Music Information Centre distributes the publications Musica Islandica and Islandia Edition, which contain many well known works from the middle of last century.
